AceShowbiz - Former First Lady Barbara Bush has been laid to rest in Houston, Texas. A public viewing for the 92-year-old was held on Friday, April 20, on the eve of the invitation-only memorial service at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston on Saturday, April 21, where the grieving family, including former President George W. Bush, was joined by fellow ex-leaders Bill Clinton and Barack Obama

Their wives, 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, were also in attendance, as was current First Lady, Melania Trump. President Donald Trump was not present for the ceremony, citing his wish to "avoid disruptions due to added security".

After the funeral, the Bush family matriarch was buried at the Bush Library at Texas A&M University, just outside of Houston.

Barbara died on 17 April, days after deciding against seeking further medical treatment following a series of hospitalizations due to ill health, as a result of battling congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
