AceShowbiz - FX has previewed its new drama series "Pose" from Ryan Murphy. The musical dance drama series is set in the 1980s and the trailer offers a glimpse into the lives of some performers, who struggle to find a place where they fit in.

Also showing the glamorous nightlife at what looks like a club, the video puts the scenes in contrast by showing the characters' regular lives in black and white, and the club scenes in colors. "It's a place you can live out a fantasy that you never lived before," one of them says. Another adds, "It's about being alone and then finding people that are just like you."

While Evan Peters, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek take the lead roles, their characters are not featured in the video. Peters and Mara play New Jersey couple Stan and Patty who get sucked into the glamor and intrigue of New York City in the 1980s, while Van Der Beek plays Peters' financial kingpin boss Matt.

"Pose" centers on the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world. Murphy told reporters in January, "The show is about the search for being authentic, about creating opportunities. We're past an era of straight men playing these roles. It's time to think differently and offer more opportunities to people who want to work. Many of this cast have never been in front of the camera before."

The series is making TV history by featuring the largest transgender series regular cast to date. In addition, it has the largest LGBTQ cast ever for a scripted series. The trans actors include MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross, who will all play transgender characters.

Murphy directed the first two of the eight-episode freshman season. He also executive produces along with Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall and Sherry Marsh.

The new series premieres Sunday, June 3 on FX.
