AceShowbiz - It's a double dose of laughter in "Night School" with Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish teaming up to play the two main characters. The first trailer for the movie has been released for viewing pleasure, teasing the funny banters between the two.
In the upcoming comedy, Hart plays Teddy Walker, a barbecue-grill salesman who lost his job after an accident caused the store he worked at burnt down. He tries to switch to a new career as a stockbroker, only to come to realize that he's unqualified for the job as a high-school dropout.
Not willing to give up just yet, Teddy returns to school to complete his GED. He starts to attend night classes where he encounters Haddish's Carrie, a teacher who is as determined as her student is. She spanks Teddy with a belt as she urges him to take the test.
"My suspicions were correct," Carrie tells Teddy in the trailer. "You're clinically dumb. There is no cure for what you have." With Teddy very lacking behind, will he be able to pass the GED exam?
Based on a story by Hart, "Night School" follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the longshot chance they'll pass the GED exam. Taran Killam, Rob Riggle, Romany Malco and Ben Schwartz also star in the movie.
Malcolm D. Lee, who directed "Girls Trip", serves behind the lens, while Hart produces for his Hartbeat Productions, and Will Packer via his Will Packer Productions. It is slated to open in theaters across the nation on September 28.
