Music

The 50-year-old record producer describes the new song, which is his sixth collaboration with Sia, as a 'funky' dance track with a 'big pop melody.'

AceShowbiz - David Guetta is aiming for the chart's top slot with another Sia Furler collaboration. Seven years after they put out the hit "Titanium", the two have reunited for motivational anthem "Flames", which was released on Thursday, March 22.

The three-minute track features Sia showcasing her powerful vocals over pulsating ryhthm and percussive guitars. "So my love, keep on running/ You gotta get through today/ There my love, keep on running," she sings. "Gotta keep those tears at bay/ Oh, my love, don't stop burning/ Gonna send them up in flames/ In flames."

David is scheduled to perform the song for the first time at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, which will begin from March 23 to March 25. In an interview with New York Post, the 50-year-old described the new song as a "funky" dance track with a "big pop melody."

"[Sia] sent me a simple song that was just a piano and her voice," he said. "I love everything she writes. To me, her voice is so incredible." He went on revealing that it took a year for them to record the track, adding that he focused on producing the song with global appeal.

"Because I'm French, I was raised listening to American music without understanding the words," he continued. "I love the message of this record. Every time I work on a new song, I try to listen to it the way I used to as [a] kid. I want people to feel a certain emotion... Even if they don't understand the lyrics."

"Flames" marks the sixth collaboration for Sia and David. Along with "Titanium", they previously teamed up on "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)", "Bang My Head", "The Whisperer" and "Helium Remix". Other than Sia, the record producer has collaborated with the likes of Charli XCX, French Montana and Sean Paul.
