Warner Bros.' film 'Rampage', which is based on video game series, is moved up after a shift in 'Avengers: Infinity War' release date.

AceShowbiz - The recent shift in "Avengers: Infinity War" release date has affected another film's release date. This happens to "Rampage" starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. After the release date for the superhero team-up movie was moved up to Friday, April 27, Warner Bros. has just taken the same move for its new film starring the wrestler-turned-actor.
Warner Bros. initially scheduled "Rampage", which is based on 1980s video game by Midway Games, to be released on Friday, April 20 in the United States. However, after Marvel announced a shift of its film release date, Warner Bros. now moves up "Rampage" release date to April 13. The shift will give the film full two weeks again in theaters before "Avengers: Infinity War" arrives.
WB has high hope for the movie to bring much benefit to them. The movie, which is released through New Line Cinema, tells a story about a man named Davis Okoye, played by Dwayne, who shares an unshakable and unbreakable bond with George, albino gorilla whom he takes care most of its life. But a mysterious genetic experiment results in mutation of the gorilla. The gentle ape becomes a raging creature of enormous size. Other animals, a wolf and crocodile, are also under similar transformation.
As these newly created predators battle for supremacy and tear across North America, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer (Naomie Harris) to secure an antidote and fight his way through the ever-changing battlefield, not only to stop a global catastrophe, but also to save the beast that once his friend.
The movie directed by Brad Peyton is produced by Dwayne Johnson himself along with Brad Peyton, Beau Flynn, John Rickard and Hiram Garcia. Meanwhile, Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel work on the screenplay.
In addition to Dwayne and Naomie, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are starring in the film.
