Adele proves that she's a No. 1 fan of Dolly Parton. The British songstress channeled her idol as she recreated the country music queen's look from her "Jolene" era in an Instagram picture she shared on Tuesday, January 30.
The "When We Were Young" hitmaker was barely recognizable with her long blonde wig and heavy makeup. She also wore a pink suit and matching heels. The pop star posed on what looked like a backstage while holding a guitar.
"The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton! We love you!" she further paid tribute to Parton. "We wish We could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I'll always love you x" It's unclear what the occasion was.
Adele's transformation has caught Parton's attention and she clearly loved it as she wrote back, "And I will always love you!" quoting her 1974 song which was later sung by Whitney Houston in "The Bodyguard".
Parton previously gave a nod to Adele in her song "Head Over High Heels", in which she sings, "Put on my tight dress. Hair teased on my head. I painted my lips red. And my eyes like Adele." The 72-year-old singer has also expressed her interest to collaborate with Adele.
"I love her! I would love to do something with her," she told Digital Spy back in August 2016. "I just love her. I love how she looks, I love how she sings, I love how she is."
