AceShowbiz - %cHoda Kotb% was just named as the new co-host of "Today", replacing %cMatt Lauer% who was fired following multiple sexual harassment allegations against him. Apparently, Matt was as happy as other people for Hoda's promotion.

Hoda revealed that Matt sent her a congratulatory message hours after the announcement. "He was sweet this morning," Hoda told to E! News in between "Today" segment on Tuesday, January 2. "Certain texts popped up, and there was one from Matt: Congratulations!"

Hoda said that she remains in touch with Matt. "You know, Matt is our good friend and continues to be, and I think for both of us, we've just been trying to navigate this time and honor our love and friendship with Matt, but also understand and try to learn more about these circumstances," she said. "So, it's complicated when you are surprised by revelations, but you still care deeply for somebody who's a friend. I think for all of us, we've just been trying to navigate through that, with straightforwardness and honesty and integrity."

The fact that we are two women seems just right with where our culture is."
