'In 2018, she looks forward to completing fashion school and dipping her toe back into acting,' a source says of the 'Easy A' star.

AceShowbiz - After staying away from the spotlight for a while, Amanda Bynes is ready to be back in the show business. The 31-year-old actress is planning to make her acting comeback in 2018, her lawyer has told Page Six.

"Amanda is looking forward to ringing in the new year with her close friends this year," her lawyer said on Thursday, December 28. She added, "In 2018, she looks forward to completing fashion school and dipping her toe back into acting. She has had several offers but is waiting for the right one to come along for a comeback."

Amanda currently attends the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The former Nickelodeon star rose to prominence after starring on 1990s' series "All That" and "The Amanda Show". Her last movie credit was 2010's "Easy A", in which she starred as Marianne Bryant alongside Emma Stone.

Amanda announced in July 2010 that she planned to retire from acting, but then decided to have an indefinite hiatus to focus on her study. She ran into trouble with the law in 2012 when she was charged with driving under the influence in West Hollywood. The charge was dropped two years later and she received a three-year probation.

In 2013, she had a meltdown during which she started a small fire in the driveway of a stranger. She was hospitalized under a 72-hour mental-health evaluation hold. She got arrested for DUI again in 2014. During those years, she also made headlines for her antics and bizarre tweets.

The former child star has since been focusing on her sobriety. In September, she was spotted during a rare outing with her life coach Joy Stevens for grocery shopping. She looked different as she apparently gained some weight.

Back in June, she shared to Hollyscoop about her plans, "I do miss acting, and I actually have something surprising to tell you: I'm going to start acting again. I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on a show that I'm a fan of and maybe another TV show where I'm the star of in the future."
