Regarding the actor's future on the critically-acclaimed Amazon series, Tambor's publicist Allan Mayer says that 'no final decision for next year has been made, either by Jeffrey or by Amazon.'

It seems like Jeffrey Tambor isn't quitting "Transparent" despite being involved in a sexual harassment scandal. A representative for the Emmy-winning actor says in a new interview that the actor, who plays transgender Maura Pfefferman on the Amazon series, has no plans to quit "Transparent" despite seemingly announcing his departure last month.

In November, the Golden Globe-winning actor said in a statement, "I've already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue," adding, "Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don't see how I can return to 'Transparent'."

However, now Allan Mayer, Tambor's publicist, has clarified to The New York Times that his decision to stay or leave the show hasn't been finalized. Mayer explains, "What he said was that given the toxic atmosphere and the politicization on the set, it's very hard for him to see how he can possibly return." He continues saying, "But no final decision for next year has been made, either by Jeffrey or by Amazon."

It is also said that "Transparent" is contemplating the future of Tambor's character on the series, which debuted in 2014. Series creator and writers reportedly are working on season 5, which may or may not have Tambor's Pfefferman as the lead.

The series' future is up in the air after Tambor's former assistant Van Barnes and "Transparent" co-star Trace Lysette accused the actor of sexual harassment. Barnes, a 42-year-old transgender actress, took to Facebook to accuse the actor of behaving in a sexually inappropriate manner toward her. Meanwhile, Lysette claimed that Tambor wanted to "attack [her] sexually." She claimed Tambor had stood on her feet to prevent her from moving as he rubbed up against her and began to make "quick, discreet thrusts back and forth against my body."

Soon after the allegations were made, Amazon stated that it would conduct a detailed investigation on the allegations.
