In addition, it was announced that season 25 champion Jordan Fisher and third-place finisher Frankie Muniz would join the 'Dancing with the Stars' winter tour.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" ended its season 25 on Tuesday, November 21, but it won't be long until we get a new, special installment of the show. During the closing moments of the season finale, which named Broadway star Jordan Fisher winner, host Tom Bergeron announced that there would be an all-athlete edition of the ABC dancing competition coming next year.

The four-week special is set to star ten athletes, which have yet to be named as of now. The athletes will come from all different segments of the sports world and compete against each other for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. The special is scheduled to air in spring 2018.

Numerous sports stars have competed on "Dancing with the Stars" throughout the 25 seasons, with some of them nabbing the first place in their own seasons. Among the sport stars who were named the Mirror Ball Champions were former NFL stars Emmitt Smith who won season 3, Hines Ward who won season 12, and Rashad Jennings who took home the trophy in season 24.

Bergeron and co-host Erin Andrews are attached to host the all-athlete edition of "Dancing with the Stars". A premiere date for the special has not been announced.

In addition, it was announced during the closing moment of season 25 finale that Jordan and fellow season 25 finalist and the third-place finisher Frankie Muniz would join the "Dancing with the Stars" winter tour, "Dancing with the Stars: Live! Light Up the Night!". It will mark their debut to go on to tour with the pro dancers.

Frankie shared his excitement of joining the tour, saying, "It's the only thing getting me through tonight because, like, otherwise I would be so miserably sad." He went on saying, "[But] I know I get to continue for the next 14 weeks of dancing every day."
