Jessica Chastain Is Up for Starring in 'It' Sequel
Movie

As the 'Miss Sloane' actress is touted by fans as the perfect depicter of grown-up Beverly, Jessica says, 'I hope we can make it happen.'

AceShowbiz - Following the success of the "It" remake, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. have greenlit the sequel which will pick up 27 years later after the first film. As speculations about who will be playing the adult versions of the Losers Club have been rambling on the internet, Jessica Chastain has come up as fans' favorite to play grown-up Beverly.

Director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti, who worked with Jessica on "Mama" (2013), told Variety back in September that they're good friends with the Oscar-nominated actress and they would love to cast her in the sequel. Andy gushed, "She loves the movie, and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense."

Now, Jessica has sounded off on the possibility of her joining the upcoming horror movie. "Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy's directorial debut, you know, his film, 'Mama'. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so...," she told Screen Rant in a joint interview with her "Molly's Game" co-star Idris Elba. She continued, "Anything that they're doing, I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen."

And as a bonus, Idris Elba is also up for "It 2". "Get me in! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!" he exclaimed during the interview.

Andy Muschietti previously said that the kids would still appear in the sequel as memories of the adult versions. His sister Barbara chimed in, "They are an important component in the next film," adding that they need to shoot the movie soon because the kids are growing very fast.

Andy also stressed that the kid elements in the next movie wouldn't be just be brief throwbacks, but "they're a very big part of the action."

"It 2" is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on September 6, 2019.
