AceShowbiz - Chris Savino, the creator of Nickelodeon's cartoon series "The Loud House", has lost his job following sexual harassment accusations which dated back several years. The showrunner was initially suspended when the allegation first surfaced, but now he's officially fired.
According to Cartoon Brew, Savino was accused by a dozen women of making unwanted advances and inappropriate behavior, threatening to blacklist female colleagues at the end of consensual relationships, and sabotaging their careers when they turned him down.
Anne Walker Farrell, a director on Netflix's "Bojack Horseman", was one of Savino's victims. "Take him down, @Nickelodeon. Grandma's been waiting for this day for a long damn time. #metoo," she tweeted, adding that Savino sexually harassed her 15 years ago. "Apparently dude's approach hasn't changed," she slammed him.
"I feel sorry I didn't speak up sooner. I learned my lesson. Speaking up, and looking out for the younguns out there. <3 Never again," she added. "I carried this story too long. Tiny animation bbs, I see u. I love you. Let's take care of each other. For you at Nickelodeon who came together and reported him: you are heroes. You are badasses."
Following Savino's termination, Cyma Zarghami, president of Viacom's Nickelodeon group, issued a memo to staff. "In the current climate, it feels necessary to say that if you should encounter an uncomfortable situation at work, or witness one, you are safe to speak up," she wrote. "If you hear something, and are unsure of what to do, you are safe to tell your supervisor or Human Resources. If you need help, in any way, you are safe to ask for it."
Chris Savino joined the growing list of predatory figures in Hollywood showbiz. FOX News was rocked with sexual harassment allegations against Roger Ailes, Bill O'Reilly and Eric Bolling earlier this year, Amazon parted ways with their executive Roy Price due to similar issues, and The Weinstein Company is in turmoil following Harvey Weinstein's misconduct.
