One picture shows Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Microchip with Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle, while another snap features the titular vigilante preparing to take a shot.

AceShowbiz - New pictures and promo for "The Punisher" have made their way out online. Released via Empire magazine, one of the photos gives a look at Microchip a.k.a. David Lieberman, who is portrayed by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The character is seen holding an empty glass while speaking to Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) who is sitting across of him.

Another image takes us behind the scenes of the filming of a scene where Frank is preparing to shoot. He's seen lying on the snow-covered ground while wearing an all-black ensemble.

Meanwhile, the promo video posted on the show's official Instagram page hints at what looks like a hunt for Frank. The video, which features no voice, highlights men in SWAT-like uniforms in a dimly-lit building. The footage, shot in night-vision, switches POV from first person to the third person as the officers scope the area. Frank, however, is nowhere to be found in the footage.

"The Punisher" has been teased in a number of photos and promo videos, but the premiere date is not announced just yet. The show will head to New York Comic-Con in October, and the release date is expected to be revealed during the panel.

Joining the new series are Paul Schulze as Agent Rawlins, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Amber Rose Revah as Homeland Security agent Dinah Madani, Ben Barnes as Jigsaw, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle and Michael Nathanson as Sam Stein. Deborah Ann Woll will reprise her "Daredevil" role as Karen Page.

"The Punisher" will focus on military veteran Frank Castle who, after the murder of his family, is both haunted and hunted. He is described as a vigilante who aims to fight the criminal underworld by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.

"The Frank Castle you find in this story is not The Punisher," Bernthal once said about his character in the "Daredevil" spin-off series. "He's reeling from the loss of his family. He's driven by rage and is on a singular mission to find these people who took his family from him, and do it as brutally as possible."
