The 39-year-old rapper/actor denied speculations that he has stepped away from hip-hop as he is just taking his time to draw some inspirations for new music.

Since his major label debut "Back for the First Time" in 2000, Ludacris has been one of the most successful emcees in the music industry. While he has extended his talent into the big screen, it doesn't mean that he stops hitting the studio for good, as many fans suggested.
Following many speculations claiming that the rapper's music career is "dead," Luda has broken his silence to shut down the rumors. "[It's] definitely not dead, not at all," he said. "I'm just taking my time putting out some more music."
"When you get to the ninth album stage and you've sold over 20 million records, sometimes it's a process and you just gotta take your time with the process," he added. "It's expected. Any artist that takes a lot of time in-between albums, you always gon' have people that say that. But music is number one. If it wasn't for music, I wouldn't be where I'm at right now."
The rapper only released two albums in the past seven years, 2010's "Battle of the Sexes" and 2015's "Ludaversal". Earlier this year, he sparked rumors of a possible comeback album when he released his Ty Dolla $ign-assisted track "Vitamin D".
Back in 2015, Luda explained why he always took some time off in between his albums. "Everything worked out the way it was supposed to. It allowed me more time to record and get the best songs and continue to do what I do," he revealed. "Another reason I'm taking a little time between albums is because we draw inspiration from life as artists. After seven albums, I almost needed to take break and live a little bit of f**kin' life so I could have more s**t to talk about!"
