The '99 Problems' hitmaker says Beyonce Knowles' sister is like his own sibling and he will always have her back.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z broke his silence on the infamous elevator fight with Solange Knowles. Back in 2014, Solange was caught on security camera hitting and kicking her brother-in-law at a Met Gala while her sister Beyonce Knowles looked on.

In a rare interview on Tidal's Rap Radar podcast, Jay-Z opened up, "We've had one disagreement ever. Before and after, we've been cool." The hip-hop star added, "She's like my sister. I will protect her. That's my sister. Not my sister-in-law. My sister."

"We've always had a great relationship," the Jiggaman described his relationship with Solange. "I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space, but it ain't nothing."

Jay-Z then praised his sister-in-law as a musician, "I think we went into that elevator great artists. That don't surprise me. I've always loved Solange's music. I think she was slept on before this album. I thought the album before this one was amazing too. Incredible artist."

The father of three also briefly mentioned his fight with his wife's sister in his latest studio album "4:44". In a song called "Kill Jay Z", he rapped, "You egged Solange on. Knowin' all along, all you had to say you was wrong."

Meanwhile, Solange once addressed the incident in a magazine interview. "What's important is that my family and I are all good," she said. "What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that."

During his chat for Rap Radar, Jay-Z also talked about his feud with his "Watch the Throne" collaborator Kanye West. "Kanye's my little brother," he said. "He's talked about me 100 times. He made a song called 'Big Brother'. We've gotten past bigger issues, but you brought my family into it, now it's a problem with me. That's a real, real problem. And he knows it's a problem."

"He knows that he crossed the line. I know him. He knows. I know he knows, because we've never let this much space go between one of our disagreements, and we've had many, because that's who we are. That's what I like about him. He's an honest person, he's open and he'll say things and he's wrong a lot of times and he'll confront it."
