A rep for the singer has posted on Facebook to ensure concerned people that Sinead 'is safe,' 'surrounded by love and receiving the best of care.'

AceShowbiz - Sinead O'Connor is apparently doing better after posting a heartbreaking video that revealed her suicidal tendencies. A rep for the singer has taken to her official Facebook post to ensure everyone that the 50-year-old Irish star is "safe."

"Hi everybody, I am posting at Sinead's request, to let everyone who loves her know she is safe, and she is not suicidal," read the statement posted on August 8. "She is surrounded by love and receiving the best of care. She asked for this to be posted knowing you are concerned for her. I won't respond to any questions, so please understand. I hope this comforts those of you were concerned."

While the anonymous rep won't share more details, Radar Online reports that Sinead has been hospitalized. The South Hackensack Police Department responded to a call from an anonymous individual who became concerned about the singer's well-being after watching the clip. When the cops arrived at the motel to check on her, "she was gone and we never made direct contact with her." Captain Robert Kaiser adds, "We heard that she has since been checked into a hospital, and we have made periodic checks throughout since."

Two motel employees tell Radar that two men were seen with Sinead on Friday talking about taking her to a psychiatric facility for evaluation. Her black Chevrolet is still parked in the Travelodge lot though, because she has paid up over the next 30 days at the motel, Captain Kaiser says.

One fellow motel guest said Sinead would leave her door open all week during the day and would only close it at night. "The last time I saw her was on Friday getting a soda from the vending machine," the guest says. "She was staying on the second floor."

Neighborhood fans have shown up with flowers and food to help the troubled star, but were turned away because Sinead was no longer at the motel.

Sinead previously raised people's concerns after saying in a Facebook video that she's living alone in a New Jersey motel. The "Nothing Compares 2 U" hitmaker broke down in tears as she opened up after her struggle with mental illness.

"Mental illness, it's like drugs, it doesn't give a s**t who you are, and equally what's worse, it's the stigma, it doesn't give a s**t who you are," she tearfully said. "And suddenly all the people that are supposed to be loving you and taking care of you are treating you like s**t."
