'I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuse for it,' the 31-year-old actor apologizes for his racial outburst to police officers during his recent drunkenness arrest.

AceShowbiz - Shia LaBeouf has issued an apology after a series of videos surfaced showing the actor's eccentric behaviour towards police officers during his recent drunkenness arrest. The "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" star took to his Twitter account on Wednesday, July 12 to say that he's sorry for his racial outburst while admitting that he's struggling with addiction.

"I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuse for it," Shia said. "I don't know if these statements are too frequent, or not shared often enough, but I am certain that my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint. The severity of my behavior is not lost on me."

"My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst. It is a new low. A low I hope is a bottom," he continued. "I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long, and I am actively taking steps toward securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes."

Shia was taken into custody last weekend by Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police in Georgia after he allegedly went off on cops while drunk in public. In addition to a video showing the actor hurling insults at a police officer that surfaced earlier this week, a new video from the police station security camera was released by TMZ on Wednesday.

The new footage showed Shia telling an officer, "You're going to hell, straight to hell, bro," while getting his fingerprints taken. The 31-year-old actor then told a black officer in the room that he's "especially" going to hell "because he's a black man."

"That doesn't mean he's going to hell," the white officer responded, before Shia said, "That means a whole lot, bro." Later, the black officer was seen asking, "How are we being racist?" to which the troubled actor responded, "A black man arrested me for being white."
