'True Blood' Stars and Many Other Celebs Mourn Nelsan Ellis' Death

The likes of Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Joe Manganiello, Octavia Spencer and Gabrielle Union take it to Twitter to pay tribute to the Lafayette depicter.

AceShowbiz - Celebrities reacted to "True Blood" actor Nelsan Ellis' passing. His former co-stars and many other Hollywood actors sent prayers and condolences on Twitter shortly after news broke out that the 39-year-old actor died from complications with heart failure.

Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) tweeted, "It was an utter privilege to work with the phenomenally talented and deeply kind soul .@OfficialNelsan I'm devastated by his untimely death." Her husband Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) chimed in, "Nelsan Ellis was truly remarkable. A brilliant, charismatic, intelligent, soulful, wonderful dude. this is just completely tragic."

Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) joined the mourners, "Crushed today by the loss of my friend and castmate Nelsan Ellis. He was a wonderful person, a pioneer, and a one of a kind artist. RIP." Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte) remembered the recently-deceased actor, "I don't know if I've ever seen the level of humility and kindness that came with the Magnificent Talent that Nelsan Ellis had. Miss u friend."

Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam De Beaufort) wrote, "I have no words yet..." Anna Camp (Sarah Newlin) was devastated as well, "My heart is broken today over the loss of @OfficialNelsan I was in complete awe of your talent and so honored to have known your kindness."

Octavia Spencer, Gabrielle Union and Gabourey Sidibe were among the mourners outside the "True Blood" family. "Just got word that we lost @OfficialNelsan. My heart breaks for his kids and family...," Spencer wrote. Union tweeted, "My God, such a beautiful soul and talented artist. Blown. Away. #RIP." Sidibe posted, "Heartbroken over the passing of Nelsan Ellis. He was always so sweet to me and so entertaining to watch in screen."

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" actor Riz Ahmed also paid tribute to Ellis, "Gutted to hear of Nelsaan Ellis' untimely death. Pleasure to work with him on The Reluctant Fundamentalist. A shining talent and soul."
