It's a double joy for George Clooney and his wife Amal Alamuddin. The actor and his lawyer wife have welcomed twins. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy and baby girl. They can officially add parents to their resume. It's their first children together.

"This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine," a rep for the first-time dad says before jokingly adding, "George is sedated and should recover in a few days."

Both Alexander and Ella are very popular names stateside. Alexander has been in the top 20 most popular male names since 2000 and Ella since 2008. 13321 baby boys were named Alexander in 2016, placing it at No. 11 on the list of the most popular names. Meanwhile, 7866 baby girls were named Ella last year, making it the 17th most popular female name.

George and Amal Clooney married in 2014 in Venice. "I was very happy that we were going to get married and then [a pregnancy] seemed like the next step," he said earlier this year. "I played a pediatrician on ER. So I know how to work on extra children ... If there's any accidents I'm there. I'm the guy."
