Music

The 32-year-old singer took to social media on Monday, May 15 to announce the new album title and its release date, along with the North American tour in support of the project.

AceShowbiz - True to her words, something new from Katy Perry arrived on May 15, just like a mysterious eye image hinted. But instead of new music, it was an announcement about her new album and tour dates. She finally confirmed that her fifth studio album would be titled "Witness" and would hit the shelves on June 9.

Although the track list of the upcoming album has yet to be revealed, "Chained to the Rhythm", "Bon Appetit" and "Witness" are expected to appear on the set. According to a press release announcing the album, "Witness" is where Perry "reflects on the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire."

The "Roar" hitmaker also announced the North American leg of "Witness: The Tour" in support of the much-anticipated album. The extensive trek will kick off in Columbus on September 7 and run through December 20. It will pick up again on January 5, 2018 in New Orleans and conclude in Vancouver on February 5.

Tickets for the U.S dates go on sale on May 22, while the Canadian dates go on sale on May 26. Every ticket purchase for the tour includes a copy of "Witness" album, and every one dollar from every ticket will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of America, a national organization of local chapters which provide after-school programs for young people.
