After a series of TV spots and clips, the final trailer for "Wonder Woman" was finally dropped at 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday, May 7. The thrilling trailer offers a look at Diana's (Gal Gadot) childhood in the island of Themyscira, her decision to fight in WWI and the battles she goes through.

"Diana, fighting does not make you a hero," Diana's mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) tells little Diana in the first part of the trailer. "Be careful with mankind, Diana. They do not deserve you." The trailer later sees Chris Pine's Streve Trevor after his plane crashes near the land of Themyscira. "What is this place?" he asks. "Who are you people?" to which Diana answers, "Here's the bridge to greater understanding."

When Diana decides to leave her land to fight in WWI, her mother warns her, "If you choose to leave, you may never return." Elsewhere in the trailer, Diana vibrantly says, "To the war!" Steve comically replies by saying, "Technically the war is that way, but we gotta go this way first."

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers...and her true destiny.

Also starring in "Wonder Woman" are David Thewlis, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Ewan Bremner, Elena Anaya and Lisa Loven Kongsli. The superhero movie is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on June 2.
