Although "Powerless" was pulled off from rotation of NBC's Thursday lineup, the producers of the show reveal that hope is still around the show. Showrunner Patrick Schumaker took to Twitter on Friday, April 28 to assure fans that the DC Comics-based comedy hadn't been "officially canceled."

"Not officially canceled yet but thanks so much for the kind words!!!" Schumaker replied to a Twitter user who bid a farewell to "Powerless". The fan assumed that the sitcom was canceled, since "Powerless" didn't air this week and was replaced by extra episode of "Superstore".

Co-showrunner, Justin Halpern, also recently addressed the matter. In a Reddit AMA, Halpern said, "Wish you could have seen the finale." He continued, "LexCorp and President Luthor try to destroy the Earth and our guys stop them. We really went for it in the finale. I think we spent 5 episodes worth of our effects budget on it."

However, Halpern admitted that there is no official announcement coming from NBC about the remaining episodes. "We hope that they air, or are at least released on Hulu. I honestly don't know right now, though," he wrote.

"Powerless" debuted in February to average ratings, netting just north of 3 million viewers. But, the show didn't do quite good ever since with teetering around 2 million viewers, while "Superstore", the workplace comedy that airs after "Powerless", is going strong by gaining 3 and 4 millions viewers.

"Powerless" follows ordinary people living within the world of the DC Universe. Vanessa Hudgens stars as a research director at Bruce Wayne's security company that protects average citizens from the superhero battles.
