The 26-year-old rapper and the 'Rock Bottom' songstress are in search of meaning and each other in the empowering clip which was released on Friday, April 21.

AceShowbiz - After releasing a single "At My Best" last month, Machine Gun Kelly has finally released a music video for the inspirational track. Along with his collaborator, Hailee Steinfeld, the Cleveland rapper is in search of meaning in the clip. The three-minute video sees MGK and Stainfeld trying to break free from uncomfortable environment and situations they don't belong.

In the Hannah Lux-directed visuals, Young Gunner is mostly seen in isolation, spitting his verses on the bus and dark streets. He raps, "I wrote this song as a message for help/ On behalf of anybody findin' their-self/ I wrote this letter to numb your pain/ 'Cause everyday I wake up, I'm feelin' the same/ I got issue like you got issues/ I been hurt, I seen the scar tissue/ If I show you, would you run away? / Do I gotta hide 'em for you to stay?"

Meanwhile, Steinfeld is at a club, but she doesn't look too happy for being there. She then chimes on the catchy chorus, "I shout, I swear, I get angry I get scared/ I fall, I break, I mess up I make mistakes/ But if you can't take me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best."

The pop-rap song oozes positivity of how we should be ourselves instead of being someone else. Just like the lyrics, if people can't take us at our worst then they don't deserve our best. At the end of the video, MGK and Steinfeld find each other. They exchange wordless, meaningful stare which channels a teen-romance feel in the clip.

Previously, MGK said of the song, "We have a whole run of that song ahead of us... the song, just like 'Bad Things', it's another feel song, it makes you feel something. I think when you're like, the voice that's... controlling someone's emotions, that's just like the best therapy ever."

"At My Best" is a track off MGK's upcoming album "Bloom". It is the third track which was released following "Bad Things" ft. Camila Cabello and "Trap Paris" ft. Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign. "Bloom" is set to arrive on May 12.
