'My Little Pony' First Teaser Highlights All-Star Cast

Emily Blunt, Zoe Saldana, Michael Pena, Sia, Kristin Chenoweth, Taye Diggs and Uzo Aduba will voice the characters in the animated movie based on Hasbro's toy line.

AceShowbiz - Lionsgate has released the first teaser for upcoming animated movie "My Little Pony". While the teaser doesn't give away plot details, it highlights big stars who will voice the animated version of Hasbro's colorful ponies and manes.

Introduced in the teaser are Emily Blunt, Zoe Saldana, Michael Pena, Sia Furler, Kristin Chenoweth, Taye Diggs and Uzo Aduba. The teaser reveals that the movie will have an original song performed by Sia.

Blunt will voice Tempest Shadow in the movie, while Saldana will voice Captain Celaeno. Chenoweth and Diggs will lend their voices to Princess Skystar and Capper respectively. Meanwhile, Aduba will voice Queen Novo and Pena will voice Grubber.

"My Little Pony" has been a pop culture phenomenon since the debut of the toy line in 1981. It has been adapted into several animated series, with "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" being the most recent series adaptation.

The upcoming movie follows a dark force which threatens Ponyville. The Mane 6-Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity-embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.

"My Little Pony" is set to be released in the U.S. on October 6. The movie is directed by Jayson Theissen from a script by Rita Hsiao, Meghan McCarthy and Michael Vogel.
