AceShowbiz - Director Patty Jenkins and producer Geoff Johns revealed intriguing details about "Wonder Woman" at Anaheim's WonderCon on Saturday, April 1. Jenkins and Johns opened up about the essence of Gal Gadot's superheroine as well as what would be offered by the movie.

Jenkins explained that the origin story of Diana Prince would be the essential part of "Wonder Woman". The director wanted to make sure that the audiences would see Diana's transformation into a champion.

Jenkins also said that love would be a thing which made Wonder Woman different from other superheroes. "She's not the only character who has a strong moral compass and a belief system, of course, but what I like about her is that that is her mission," said Jenkins in a report released by LA Times.

Jenkins went on saying, "Her mission is a belief of mankind and what they can be. I feel like there are a lot of superheroes who are chosen or find themselves in these positions." She added, "She's one of the very few who believes in goodness and kindness and justice and love, who comes to our world hoping to instill that in other people, but is willing to use force if that's what she must do, to keep mankind safe."

Jenkins later revealed that Steve Trevor's (Chris Pine) role in the movie would be more than a sidekick. "He brings the comic relief, [the] love story and symbolizes the depth of man," she said.

While fans worried that the new Wonder Women movie might abandon all details from the comic book, producer Johns reassured the audiences that "Wonder Woman" would still feature significant story points, such as Wonder Woman's homeland Themyscira, the magic lasso, the Amazons and the appearance of Steve Trevor.

"Wonder Woman" is set to be released in U.S. theaters on June 2. Other cast members include, David Thewlis, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Ewan Bremner, Elena Anaya and Lisa Loven Kongsli. Thewlis reportedly willl portray Ares, Diana Prince's enemy in the movie.
