Morgan's Twitter page seemingly suggests that she may be involved with the recently-annouced Warner Bros. project.

AceShowbiz - Following the announcement that Warner Bros. and DC are developing Batgirl solo film with "The Avengers" helmer Josh Whedon as the director, a new report about possible cast arrives. Rumor says that the role of Batgirl may be played by 27-year-old actress Lindsey Morgan, who is best known for her role as Raven Reyes on The CW's "The 100".

The news stemmed from Morgan's cryptic tweet a few weeks ago, which suggested that she would be on board for a new project, although she didn't mention what project it actually was. "WELP. New project on the horizon AND IM MORE THAN ECSTATIC about it!!!!" she wrote on her Twitter account.

Furthermore, the actress recently retweeted the news from Variety about "Batgirl" project and gave likes on several tweets regarding the subject, sparking speculation that she might be involved with Whedon's "Batgirl". Whether or not Morgan will play the role remains to be seen.

Besides The CW's "The 100", Morgan other TV credits include "General Hospital" and "Destroy the Alpha Gammas". Morgan will next be seen in independent thriller "Lasso".

Batgirl, whose real name is Barbara Gordon, debuted in 1967's DC comics. She's the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon. Despite being one of the most popular superheroes, Batgirl hasn't got any standalone movie. Whedon's upcoming "Batgirl" will center on the superheroine as well as feature other characters from Gotham City.

Among the actresses who previously played Batgirl are Yvonne Craig, Alicia Silverstone and Danielle Judovits. They portrayed the female superhero in "Batman" movies in the past.
