"Superstore" is the latest series which gets an early renewal from NBC, following the smash hit "This Is Us". NBC has announced the renewal of "Superstore" for a third season. The new season of the comedy series, which stars America Ferrera, will bring back the Cloud 9 employees for 22 new episodes.

NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a statement, "We are extremely proud of 'Superstore', which is one of the smartest and funniest comedies on television today." She continued, "Through the show's expertly drawn characters, our producers and cast do a remarkable job touching on many issues in which audiences can relate. To its credit, not only does 'Superstore' make us laugh, but it makes us think as well."

The Thursday night drama is averaging a 1.8 rating among adult viewers. The delightful comedy series is also viewed by 5.7 million total viewers in Live+7 Day ratings. According to NBC, in delayed viewing, the comedy has boosted the network's Thursday night 8 P.M. half hour timeslot in the 18-49 demo by 29|percent|. In addition, "Superstore" topped the list of NBC shows across Hulu, NBC.com and on-demand with its first season, bringing in more than 33 million full-episode viewers.

"Superstore" follows a group of employees at a fictional big-box store named Cloud 9 in their weekly adventures. The series stars Ben Feldman as Jonah, Colton Dunn as Garrett and Lauren Ash as Dina. Also starring on the series are Nico Santos as Mateo and Nichole Bloom as his on-screen secret lover Cheyenne.

Justin Spitzer creates and writes "Superstore" as well as serving as executive producer. Its star Ferrera produces, while Ruben Fleischer, David Bernad and Gabe Miller and Jonathan Green have directed some episodes the series.

The new episode titled "Super Hot Store" will air on Thursday, February 16 at 8 P.M. ET on NBC.
