Back to work, the 'Mission: Impossible' actor appears thinner and youthful as he's spotted on the filming set of the Barry Seal biopic.

AceShowbiz - Tom Cruise surprises everyone with his new look. He appeared more youthful and trimmer when he was spotted around the set of his latest film "American Made" in Atlanta, GA, on Tuesday, January 31. The cast and crew did some re-shoots for the movie.

The "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" looks different compared to what he looked like just three months ago, when he looked fuller. Sporting a light blue shirt, a pair of jeans and a black puff jacket, he completed his look with vintage sunglasses to portray Barry Seal.

In one of the photos obtained by Daily Mail, the 54-year-old actor was seen greeting fans. He smiled and waved at fans in the distance with the jacket off.

"American Made", originally titled "Mena", is a biographical movie about Barry Seal. Seal is a hustler for drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and later recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in the United States history. The pic reunites Cruise and director Doug Liman after their latest collaboration in 2014's "Edge of Tomorrow".

"American Made" made headlines in 2015, when a plane carrying crew members crashed on the set in Colombia. Two people were killed in the accident and three others were badly injured. Cruise himself was in production on the movie at that time, but was not on the plane. Due to the accident, the film's producers faced two wrongful death lawsuits.

Jesse Plemons, Sarah Wright and Domhnall Gleeson also join Cruise in the movie. The biopic is slated to hit U.S. theaters on September 29, after pushed back from its original January 6 release date.
