Universal has released the first trailer of "Girls Trip". The movie will follow the story of four lifelong friends who travel to New Orleans to attend Essence Festival, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Essence magazine. Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish will star as the best friends in the movie.

The first part of the trailer highlights the women's friendship. They graduate together, attend a babyshower, and three of them have served as the other's bridesmaids. One day, they plan a trip and later take a flight to New Orleans, where they attend a lively and colorful Essence Festival. They dance, sing, meet a new guy and have a great time together. During the event, their sisterhoods are rekindled and their wild sides are rediscovered.

"Girls Trip" is directed by Malcom D. Lee ("Barbershop: The Next Cut"), executive produced by James Lopez and produced by Will Packer. Other cast members of the movie include Larenz Tate, Mike Colter, Kofi Siriboe and Kate Walsh.

The official synopsis reads, "When four lifelong friends-Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish-travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there's enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush."

"Girls Trip" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on July 21.
