The list of "Aquaman" cast keeps growing. Nicole Kidman may be the next A-list star added to the line-up as she is now in talks to join the DC movie. Should the deal be closed, Kidman will play Aquaman's mother Atlanna.

"The Get Down" actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is also in talks to play villain Black Manta, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The actor reportedly wins the role over Trevante Rhodes ("Moonlight") and Corey Hawkins ("24: Legacy").

Kidman is no stranger to playing a DC character. Back in 1995 in "Batman Forever", she portrayed Bruce Wayne's love interest Dr. Chase Meridian. Recently, Kidman is nominated for an Oscar for her role in "Lion", and she also stars on HBO's series "Big Little Lies". Abdul-Mateen, meanwhile, will appear in "Baywatch" reboot opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

"Aquaman" follows the story of Arthur Curry a.k.a Aquaman, a half-man and half-Atlantean who leads Atlantic Ocean and tries to gain his glory. Enters his half brother, Orm, who is as powerful and creating a hindrance that puts everything in havoc. Aquaman is obliged to prevent his evil half-brother from snatching his empire of high seas.

Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman. Amber Heard will play Mera, Aquaman's love interest and The Queen of Atlantis. Patrick Wilson will play Orm and Willem Dafoe will portray Nuidis Vulko, Aquaman's science advisor. The movie is produced by Peter Safran and directed by James Wan, who is also known for his works on "Insidious" and "The Conjuring". "Aquaman" is scheduled to be released on October 5, 2018 in the U.S.

Prior to that, Momoa's Aquaman will appear in "Justice League". The superhero team-up movie is set to be released on November 17.
