AceShowbiz - Is Nicole Scherzinger replacing Fergie in Black Eyed Peas? A Brazilian website claims that the Hawaii-born singer has been chosen to replace Stacy Ferguson a.k.a. Fergie in the group. A so-called "reliable" source tells the site that the return of BEP, which will be held in June, will feature Nicole as the female vocalist.

The site goes on claiming that Fergie is too busy with her highly anticipated album "Double Dutchess", so that she has no time for her old band. Meanwhile, the former The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman hasn't gained much success with her solo venture despite releasing some singles. Reps for both singers have yet to give any confirmation regarding the report.

Nicole has met with the group members for several times. Back in September, she was spotted together with Fergie, will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo at the Metropolis Studio in West London. Earlier this week, Nicole and apl.de.ap reportedly flew to London where they will have another recording session with Will and Taboo.

Will has been vocal about BEP reunion. In an interview with Roman Kemp on Capital's "Evening Show", he said, "There will be a Black Eyed Peas reunion." The 41-year-old producer then expressed his regret at the group's indefinite hiatus. "It just, it breaks my heart that I even have to say that because really we should just... we should just always have been doing Black Eyed Peas actually," Will said. "We shouldn't have ever..."

The Grammy Award-winning group announced that they were taking hiatus in July 2011. They have released six studio albums including their triple-platinum album "Monkey Business", which was released on May 27, 2005.
