With a whopping $84.3 million, the tour dethrones Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'Watch the Throne' tour, which pulled in $75.6 million from October 2011 to June 2012.

AceShowbiz - Drake starts off the new year with a new record. According to Poll Star Pro, Drizzy and Future's "Summer Sixteen" tour has brought in a whopping $84.3 million, making it the highest-grossing hip-hop trek in history.

With this amount, the tour dethrones Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch the Throne" tour, which pulled in $75.6 million from October 2011 to June 2012. Despite having fewer dates (54) than "The Throne" (63), "Summer Sixteen" still comes up on the top.

Drake took to Instagram to celebrate his latest career milestone by posting a screenshot of a tweet. He also promoted his upcoming tour as he captioned the image, "OVOFBG EUROPE UP NEXT w/ special guests TBA."

Despite breaking the all-time record for hip-hop tour, "Summer Sixteen" comes in the eleventh place on the list of the biggest music tours in 2016. The highest grossing tour of 2016 goes to Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, whose 66 shows have raked in $268.3 million. Beyonce Knowles' "Formation" tour and Coldplay's "A Head Full of Dreams" tour bow at No. 2 and No. 3 with $256.2 million and $241 million respectively.

News of Drake's latest accomplishment comes on the heels of his streaming achievement. His smash hit "One Dance" was the first song to be streamed over one billion times on Spotify. Last September, he scored another record as his fourth studio album "Views" became the first album to earn more than a billion streams on Apple Music.

Drizzy is getting ready to head back on the road for his European "The Boy Meets World" tour, which kicks off in Amsterdam on January 21 and ends in Cologne on March 16. While he has yet to announce the openers, it's been rumored that Young Thug will be the special guest for the trek.
