Wade Wilson was happily in love with his girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) in last spring's "Deadpool". But the actor himself, Ryan Reynolds, has revealed that it's possible the red spandex-wearing pansexual antihero will get another love interest, precisely a boyfriend, in future "Deadpool" movies.
"What love is to Deadpool may not be what love is to Batman or someone else," Reynolds shares in this week's issue of Variety magazine. "I think that could be played up more," the 40-year-old actor continues. "He's an outsider in every way, shape, and form."
"The only thing that you have to consider going forward is, 'Are we being faithful to the canon that we nurtured and created?'" the Canadian actor says. "One of those things is that Deadpool is in love with Vanessa. Deadpool isn't in love with Vanessa just because she's a woman. He's in love with Vanessa because he loves her."
It's still unclear in which sequel exactly fans will get to see another love interest of the Merc with a Mouth. Reynolds has confirmed that "Deadpool 2" is set for a 2018 release. It will be directed by David Leitch from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who were the scribes of the first movie.
