Ariana Grande Lashes Out at Haters Commenting on Her Objectification Story

Some of the 'Side to Side' singer's fans have negative responses to her story about a male fan who recently made a dehumanizing comment about her.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande was left feeling "sick" and "hurt" after a male fan objectified her earlier this week. However, not everyone has sympathy for her. Instead of showing support for her, some of her social media followers blamed the singer herself for the disrespectful fan's action.

In case you missed it, Grande shared via Twitter Tuesday, December 27 a story of her encounter with a young boy who made a dehumanizing comment about her in front of her boyfriend Mac Miller.

"Ariana is sexy as hell man I see you, I see you hitting that!!!" she recalled the fan talking to Miller. Grande then expressed her anger, writing, "Hitting that? the f**k?? This may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I felt sick and objectified. I was also sitting right there when he said it."

"I am not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure. I'm an adult human being in a relationship with a man who treats me with love and respect," she continued and concluded the post by urging her followers to speak up against things that made women uncomfortable.

Her story, however, drew many negative reactions from other Twitter users who said she deserved the comment because of the sexy lyrics she sings on her songs and the revealing outfits she uses in her music videos.

Responding to the backlash, Grande returned to the micro-blogging site on Wednesday to defend herself, telling her haters that being sexy isn't "an invitation for disrespect." "Seeing a lot of 'but look how you portray yourself in videos and in your music! you're so sexual!' .... please hold.. next tweet... i repeat," she wrote.

"Expressing sexuality in art is not an invitation for disrespect !!! just like wearing a short skirt is not asking for assault," she continued. "Women's choice. our bodies, our clothing, our music, our personalities..... sexy, flirty, fun. it is not. an open. invitation."

Miller hasn't commented on the incident. Answering one of her Twitter followers' question about how the rapper reacted to the boy's comment about her, the former Nickelodeon star said that her beau just "drove the f**k away." She shared, "He is a sweet bear & I am falling asleep feeling safe & loved."
