A new image from "It" reboot has landed online. It offers a new sneak peek at Bill Skarsgard as the infamous Pennywise the Clown. Wearing a full makeup and costume, he flashed a smirk while holding a single red balloon in one hand.

Costume designer Janie Bryant took inspirations from Medieval, Renaissance, Elizabethan and Victorian eras for the clown's outfit. It's ill-fitted and the pants are too short to give the character "a child-like quality." The designer explained, "The costume definitely incorporates all these otherworldly past lives, if you will. He is definitely a clown from a different time."

Directed by Andy Muschietti ("Mama"), the new take on Stephen King's classic horror story is scheduled to arrive Stateside on September 8, 2017. It follows a group of kids that encounter an evil creature. When the creature resurfaces, the kids are called upon to regroup again, this time as adults, even though they have no memory of the first battle.
