Rothman is also attached to write the screenplay for a "21 Jump Street"-and-"Men in Black" crossover, "MIB 23". Tatum and Hill are set to reprise their roles as Jenko and Schmidt respectively. Serving behind the lens will be James Bobin, whose directing credits included "Alice Through the Looking Glass" and "Muppets Most Wanted".

Both "21 Jump Street" and its sequel were critical and commercial successes. The Phil Lord and Chris Miller-directed movies grossed over $200 million in 2012 and a huge $331.3 million worldwide in 2014 respectively.
