AceShowbiz - CBS has announced its midseason schedule for the year 2017. New crime series "Training Day" will premiere on Thursday, February 2 at 10 P.M., right after "Pure Genius" completes its 13-episode run.

The "Training Day" adaptation picks up 15 years after the events of the feature film. It follows an idealistic young police officer (Justin Cornwell) who is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with a seasoned and morally ambiguous detective (Bill Paxton).

Meanwhile, new drama "Doubt" starring Katherine Heigl will debut on Wednesday, February 15 at 10 P.M., a week after "Code Black" wraps up its season 2. Heigl takes the role of Sadie Ellis, a brilliant attorney who falls for her client William Brennan (Stephen Pasquale) recently accused of murder. The series also stars Laverne Cox, Dule Hill, Dreama Walker, Elliot Gould and Kobi Libii.

The channel has also set return dates for reality TV "Undercover Boss", which debuts its eighth season on Wednesday, December 21 at 8 P.M., "Survivor", which kicks off season 34 on Wednesday, March 8, and "The Amazing Race", which returns with the new edition on Friday, April 21 at 8 P.M., a week after "MacGyver" finishes its first year.

CBS has not announced premiere dates of new series "Superior Donuts" and the second season of "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders".
