On tonight's 'DWTS', the final three pairs perform the fusion challenge and encore of their favorite dances, while the eliminated contestants return to the dance floor.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" has a new ruler of the dance floor. After weeks of grueling rehearsals, one pair walked home with the Mirror Ball trophy. But first the final three pairs, Laurie Hernandez & Valentin Chmerkovskiy, James Hinchcliffe & Sharna Burgess and Calvin Johnson & Lindsay Arnold, performed encore of the favorite dances.

James and Sharna redid their Hollywood quickstep from Cirque du Soleil Night. Calvin and Lindsay performed their Argentine tango from Latin Night. Lindsay and Val's favorite dance was their Trio dance with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

The eliminated contestants joined the pros and troupe members for the Christmas-themed opening routine. Season 21's contestant Andy Grammer also returned to perform his new single "Fresh Eyes". After more dances from the pros, the final three performed the 24-hour fusion challenge.

James and Sharna combined Viennese waltz and foxtrot. Len Goodman and Julianne Hough praised their chemistry, while Carrie Ann Inaba said it was a "perfect choice for the fusion dance." They got 40 out of 40 points.

Calvin and Lindsay wowed the judges and the audience with their fun jive/quickstep. Bruno Tonioli loved the kicks and flips, while Carrie Ann acknowledged Calvin's "X factor" that became his charm. Calvin also got a perfect score.

The judges once again had nothing but praise when commenting on Laurie and Val's Argentine tango/foxtrot. "Fabulous dance to close a fabulous season," Len declared. Laurie also earned 40 points. Host Tom Bergeron announced that Laurie would join the "DWTS" tour this winter, regardless of the final results.

But as many have predicted, Laurie and Val came out as the winners of "DWTS" season 23. Val lifted Laurie as they celebrated their win, while others rushed to the stage to congratulate them. It's the second Mirror Ball trophy for Val.

James & Sharna finished in the second place, while Calvin & Lindsay were the second runner-ups.
