Sony Pictures Animation has released a new trailer for "Smurfs: The Lost Village" for fans' viewing pleasure. The trailer puts its focus more on the only female character, Smurfette (Demi Lovato), who is intrigued upon discovering a mysterious map dropped by "someone who looks like [the Smurfs]."

"If there really are other Smurfs out there, we need to find them," she tells Papa Smurf (Mandy Patinkin). He doesn't allow her and her friends to set on a journey, but they still go to the Forbidden Forest which is filled with magical, fascinating creatures to "find the lost Smurfs village" before the evil wizard Gargamel (Rainn Wilson) does.

The third installment of "The Smurfs" film series was directed by "Gnomeo and Juliet" helmer Kelly Asbury from a script by Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribo. Set to hit U.S. theaters on April 7, 2017, it also features Joe Manganiello, Jack McBrayer and Danny Pudi as the voices of Hefty, Clumsy and Brainy respectively.

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a roller-coaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history.
