AceShowbiz - "Snow White" will be Disney's next princess to get a live-action remake treatment. The Hollywood Reporter brings the words that "The Girl on the Train" scribe Erin Cressida Wilson is in talks to write the script for the project, which will expand upon the music and story from the 1937 animated classic.

The upcoming adaptation will feature new original songs. Songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who most recently wrote the lyrics for Damien Chazelle's upcoming musical "La La Land" starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, are on board to pen the new music.

No director and actors have been attached to the project which is in early stage of development. Marc Platt, who is also working with the studio on their upcoming sequel "Mary Poppins Returns" starring Emily Blunt as the titular nanny, will serve as a producer.

Disney's upcoming "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" starring Emma Watson is set for a March 17, 2017 release in U.S. theaters. Other planned adaptations include "The Lion King (2018)", which will be directed by Jon Favreau, an Aladdin movie titled "Genies", which is eying Guy Ritchie as director, and "Mulan".
