The British actor believes that the Sorcerer Supreme will be the one who reunites team Cap and Iron Man, saying, 'I'd like to think he's going to help them both, rather than take sides.'

It's already confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Doctor Strange in "Avengers: Infinity War". It appears he will play an important role as suggested by Cumberbatch himself that the Sorcerer Supreme may be the one who will reunite team Cap and Iron Man in the third "Avengers" movie.
"I think [Doctor Strange] has to be Team Doctor Strange," the British actor tells Yahoo! Movies. "His job title is defender of the fabric of reality. I mean, he fights other dimensional threats that are beyond the perceptions of that very potent squabble [between Cap and Iron Man], and I'd like to think he's going to help them both, rather than take sides."
Scott Derrickson agrees, claiming that the Master of the Mystic Arts is on his "own team" due to his position as "the gatekeeper between our world and other dimensions." The "Doctor Strange" helmer says, "He doesn't really stand on anyone's side other than the side of protecting our world from the malevolent threats that only he protect the world from."
Cumberbatch shares of joining "Infinity War", "The character list gets a little heavier [from 'Doctor Strange' to 'Infinity War'] and you're working with some legends of the screen let alone iconic characters. So that'll be a lot of fun." He adds, "Doctor Strange is there to provide the opening of a new chapter, it's literally going to open up the dimensions, so just when that frame got a little crowded, it's got a whole lot bigger."
Meanwhile, fans have speculated that the Guardians of the Galaxy will apparently arrive on Earth to warn the Avengers about the impending arrival of Thanos before Doctor Strange reunites them. Therefore, the Sorcerer Supreme will play a key role in stopping the Mad Titan who attempts to collect the Infinity Stones.
Filming on "Avengers: Infinity War" is slated begin next month for a May 4, 2018 release in U.S. theaters, with Joe and Anthony Russo sitting behind the lens. Meanwhile, Cumberbatch will make his debut as the Sorcerer Supreme in his solo movie which opens on November 4 before helping the Earth's Mightiest Heroes in "Infinity War".
