The rapper's wife Laura Van Winkle filed the paperwork in Palm Beach, Florida on Tuesday, October 18, nearly two decades after they tied the knot in 1997.

Vanilla Ice is ending his marriage to his wife of almost 20 years, Laura Van Winkle. According to TMZ, the pair had been separated for years now before she finally filed for divorce from her rapper husband on Tuesday, October 18.
The site said Van Winkle filed the official paperwork in Palm Beach, Florida. The couple, who tied the knot back in 1997, has two daughters together, 18-year-old Dusti Rain and 16-year-old KeeLee Breeze.
No more detail about the divorce has been released. However, it's worth noting that Vanilla Ice was arrested twice in 2001 and in 2008 on domestic battery charges. Later in 2011, he was reported moving out of the house he shared with Van Winkle due to his alleged infidelity.
Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, hasn't commented on the story. He recently appeared as a contestant in the season 23 of "Dancing with the Stars" and he appeared to be doing just fine when wishing his dancing partner Witney Carson a happy birthday on social media.

Earlier this week, he posted on Twitter a picture of him smiling widely at the camera as he posed with the pro-dancer as well as fellow contestant James Hinchcliffe backstage. "Happy birthday to my partner @WitneyCarson," he captioned the snap. "The best dancing @Ninja ever. @DancingABC #dwts." He also shared another picture of him and Carson on Instagram in honor of her birthday.
