Six months after announcing their engagement, the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' actor reveals on Twitter that 'this relationship isn't what [Dove] wants.'

Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan are no longer planning to get married. Just six months after getting engaged, the actor shocked fans when he revealed via Twitter on Wednesday, October 5 that he'd broken up with the "Descendants" actress.
"Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants," Ryan tweeted. "We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful." Later in the day, he returned to the micro-blogging site to thank everyone for their support, writing, "I love you all. Thanks for keeping me up."

Dove and Ryan met when they were working together on the Disney sitcom "Liv and Maddie". They made their romance public in August 2013. He announced their engagement back in April, when he posted on Instagram a picture of him hugging the 20-year-old beauty and captioned it, "Dedicating my 1,000th post to my fiancee. I can't believe I get to call you that. Thanks for saying yes."
While promoting his upcoming project "The Rocky Horror Picture Show Event", Ryan said in an interview last month that he's in no rush to marry his then-fiancee.
"She's so busy. I'm so busy. The last thing we want to do is turn it into another thing on the to-do list, you know what I mean?" he told E! News. "I mean, we're infants - we're children - so we have a lot of time to plan and get it done, and it'll happen when it's supposed to."
