Have you ever imagined Noah's Ark floating in space? NBC and famed filmmaker Robert Zemeckis are going to bring the vision to life on a new drama set in present day. Currently titled "The Ark", it has Black List scribe Daniel Kunka ("12 Rounds") attached as writer and 20th Century Fox Television as the studio.

According to the network, the modern-day drama will be a "grounded, modern retelling of the Noah's Ark story from the Bible; after the death of his wife, an engineer has a vision to construct a ship capable of sustaining life in space. When the build happens to coincide with the coming end of the world, the engineer realizes there may be a larger story at play."

Academy Award-winning director Zemeckis, who is known for his works on "Forrest Gump" (1994), "The Polar Express" (2004), "Beowulf" (2007) and "A Christmas Carol (2009)", will executive produce the Noah's Ark drama along with his ImageMovers partner Jack Rapke, Jackie Levine and Madhouse Entertainment's Adam Kolbrenner & Robyn Meisinger.

The Noah story was most recently retold on the big screen in 2014's "Noah" directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Russell Crowe.
