The cable channel has also greenlit a pilot of post-Civil War drama 'Monsters of God' from Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment.

AceShowbiz - "The Last Ship" is here to stay. TNT has renewed the action-drama series for a 13-episode fourth season that will air next summer. The network made the announcement during the Television Critics Association's press tour on Sunday, July 31.

On the same occasion, the cable channel announced that it ordered limited-run series "The Race Card" and Rod Lurie's "Monster of God" pilot. "The Race Card" is a docuseries on which former NBA player and current "Inside the NBA" analyst Charles Barkley will take on today's hot-button topics and try to investigate the issues from the point of view of today's cultural leaders and tastemakers.

"We, as Americans, never discuss the issue of race in this country and how it impacts everything in our lives until something bad happens," Barkley said in a statement. "I see this project as a way to talk about race, class, and cultural differences and challenge everyone's status quo." The show has been ordered for six hour-long episodes that will launch in early 2017.

As for "Monster of God", it hails from Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment. In the post-Civil War drama, savagery and violence are the cornerstones of Colonel "Terrible" Bill Lancaster's holy war against the Comanche in post-Civil War Texas. Despite the peaceful coexistence between the Comanche and local townspeople, Lancaster sets out on a quest to kill off every single member of the tribe, bringing wild chaos to the town of Slater. Meanwhile, his wife, Cynthia, will let no one get in the way of her obsessive quest to institute her wildly feminist ideals.

Lurie wrote the script and serve as executive producer along with Marc Frydman, DeDe Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Edberg. Lurie is also on board to direct the pilot.

"We're creating premium shows that are also unapologetically entertaining, whether it's through the tenuous and unexpected relationship in 'Good Behavior', the hard-hitting action of 'The Last Ship', or 'Monsters of God', our version of a Western chock-full of violence, sex, and insane characters," Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT, said.

TNT has additionally scheduled the premiere of Michelle Dockery's new drama "Good Behavior" for Tuesday, November 15 at 9 P.M. ET and "The Librarians" season 3 for Sunday, November 20 at 8 P.M. ET.
