Could this be the real reason behind Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama's breakup? About two weeks after announcing the end of their 6-year relationship in a joint statement, a new report emerged claiming that the split was caused by his reluctance to commit.
"Demi wanted a ring, but Wilmer wasn't ready to get married," a source allegedly told OK! magazine. "She didn't want to wait around anymore, so they decided to part ways."
In the statement posted on their social media pages, Demi and Wilmer said that the 6 years they spent together were "wonderful," but they decided to end it because they realized they're "better as best friends."
Prior to their split, Demi had multiple times expressed her desire to get engaged. In an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" earlier this year, she denied speculations that she's already engaged to the former "That '70s Show" star. However, she hinted she'd say yes if he popped the question.
"I don't see a ring," she told host Ellen DeGeneres. "I wouldn't mind if I saw one, but there's time for everything. We've been together this long, and obviously I'm not going anywhere and vice versa."
