Billboard Music Awards 2016: Madonna Joined by Stevie Wonder for a Prince Tribute
Music

Madge kicks it off solo with a cover of Prince's hit 'Nothing Compares 2 U', before Wonder joins her for a rendition of 'Purple Rain'.

AceShowbiz - Amid criticisms that the Billboard Music Awards picked Madonna to pay tribute to Prince at the annual awards event, Madge took the stage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22 anyway. The singer appeared in a sparkly, paisley-print purple suit with a ruffled blouse and cane, sitting on a throne as the monologue of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" was played.

Madonna then launched into a rendition of the Purple One's "Nothing Compares 2 U". After she finished the song, Stevie Wonder showed up to join Madonna for a cover of "Purple Rain", much to fans' surprise.

Before leaving the stage, the 57-year-old songstress thanked Wonder, who thanked her back. She added, "And most of all, most of all, thank you, Prince Rogers Nelson, for all that you have given us. Thank you, good night."
