CBS is adding "MacGyver" and five other new shows to its line-up for 2016-2017 TV season. Among the greenlit projects is "Bull" that will keep "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" star Michael Weatherly on the network after his impending departure from the long-running procedural series. Below are details of the four dramas and two comedies picked up to series by the Eye.

"MacGyver", a reboot of the 1980s series of the same title, stars Lucas Till in the title role. It follows the titular character as he creates a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening. "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" alum George Eads co-stars.

"Training Day", based on the 2001 film of the same name, picks up 15 years after the events of the feature film left. It follows an idealistic young police officer (Justin Cornwell) who is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous detective (Bill Paxton). Jerry Bruckheimer executive produces along with Antoine Fuqua, Jonathan Littman, Will Beall and Barry Schindel.

"Bull" features Weatherly as a character inspired by Dr. Phil McGraw. Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick.

"Pure Genius" is a medical drama about a young Silicon Valley tech titan (Augustus Prew) who enlists a veteran surgeon with a controversial past in starting a hospital with a cutting edge, "new school" approach to medicine. The project emerged as a favorite after strong testing.

"Friends" vet Matt LeBlanc toplines "Man with a Plan", starring as a contractor whose wife goes back to work. He starts spending more time with his kids and discovers the truth every parent eventually realizes: his little angels are maniacs. LeBlanc also executive produces it along with Jeff & Jackie Filgo, Michael Rotenberg and Troy Zien.

Another comedy "The Great Indoors" stars "Community" alum Joel McHale as an adventure reporter who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine. Stephen Fry and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are also among the cast.
