Janssen's Susan 'Scottie' Halsted will make her debut in the May 5 episode of the mothership drama before the spin-off is introduced in the May 12 episode.

AceShowbiz - One of the top-rated series on NBC, "The Blacklist" may get a spin-off. The network is reportedly planning to turn the hit drama into a franchise with a new series to be headlined by Famke Janssen ("X-Men" trilogy, "How to Get Away with Murder").

Janssen is set to make her debut as Susan "Scottie" Halsted in the May 5 episode of "The Blacklist". The May 12 episode will serve as a backdoor pilot for the potential new series. The backdoor pilot is written by "The Blacklist" creator Jon Bokenkamp and exec producer/showrunner John Eisendrath, and will be directed by Michael Dinner.

Details about Janssen's role are currently kept under wraps, but sources tell THR that she could play the mother to Liz's mysterious husband Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold). Their relationship is said to mirror Liz (Megan Boone) and Red's (James Spader) dynamic on the mothership series.

Edi Gathegi, who has recurred as big bad Mr. Solomon on "The Blacklist" in the currently airing third season, will also appear in the spin-off. He reportedly has signed a deal to be a series regular in the spin-off, though it has not been picked up to series.
