It looks like the long-rumored extended edition of "The Martian" is really happening and is coming very soon. According to The Digital Bits, Australian retailer EzyDVD recently listed "The Martian: Extended Edition" for a release on June 8. The retailer might have accidentally revealed the info, because the listing is no longer available on their site.

Directed by Ridley Scott, "The Martian" was based on Andy Weir's 2011 book of the same title. It centers on Matt Damon's Mark Watney, an astronaut who's presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

The 2015 film was a big success both commercially and critically. It grossed over $629 million worldwide, becoming Scott's highest-grossing film to date, in addition to garnering 7 Academy Award nominations and 3 Golden Globe nominations.
